Disc filters work by depth filtration through a stack of compressed discs. The backwashable design keeps consumable costs low; the wash cycle is short and programmable, so little water is spent.
Manual types come with 3/4, 1, 2 and 3 inch connections; fully automatic types are built to any requested diameter with manifold fabrication. Filtration ratings of 20, 55, 100, 130, 200 and 400 microns are available.
They are used on cooling water lines, to catch media carry-over from resin, sand and activated carbon filters, ahead of reverse osmosis, in agricultural irrigation and in seawater filtration; the synthetic body withstands outdoor conditions.
